The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is a state of the art national museum, the first outside of Ottawa. It is targeting LEED Silver certification.
The JC Wilt Infectious Diseases Research Centre is an enhanced Level II Laboratory for use by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
The building is a 59,000 square foot complex, completely renovated and retrofitted through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). This project required strict management and close attention to detail in order to achieve LEED Silver certification.
The facility contains laboratory workspace, enhanced laboratory space, training areas, and office space. Electrical systems installed included: normal and emergency power systems with redundancy, as well as automated lighting systems and security systems. Enhanced grounding and incorporation of infectious disease control measures were required in the electrical installation.
