RRCC Skills Trades Centre

The Skills Trades and Technology Centre is a milestone achievement in the history of Red River College. Totaling approximately 100,000 square feet, the STTC has new laboratory and shop space, as well as classrooms for up to 1000 students per year in high demand trades and technologies. This includes carpentry, electrical and heating, sheet metal, ventilation, and HVAC.

  • New Carpentry Room with All Equipment
  • New HVAC Sheet Metal Shop and Equipment
  • New Refrigeration Lab with All Equipment to Facilitate Actual Field Issues and Repairs
  • New Robotic Labs and a state-of-the-art Smart Factory with Specialized Laser Lathes and a 3D Printer
  • Installed a system which shows the consumption of all the electrical distributions, water, and gas
  • Data Infrastructure for CAD Classrooms
  • Lighting with daylight sensors to moderate the light levels in room with natural lighting

For the Red River College Innovation Center project Wescan BIM modeled to 95% which enabled us to prefabricate 87% of the electrical installation. This included support system, conduit packages, wall assemblies, lighting fixtures, panels and transformers.
